The Yuba River Watershed is in the northern Sierra Nevada. On average, it receives the most precipitation of all 15 watershed in this study. The Yuba River has a number of high profile hydropower projects, such as the Yuba-Bear Project, the Drum-Spaulding Project, the New Bullards Bar Project, and the Middle Fork American Project. Much of the water from the Yuba River is transferred to the Bear River Watershed to be used for hydropower generation there.
